Hershey Panther Spanish III and IV students made an attempt to obtain the Nebraska Seal of Biliteracy this year. In order to obtain this award, a student has to take a series of listening, reading, writing, and speaking tests. They also have to pass each of these tests at an Intermediate Mid level or above.
Once the students have passed the tests, they have to send in an application to qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy with the Nebraska Department of Education. HPS seniors, Anna Burklund and Zoe Schmitt, both received the Nebraska Seal of Biliteracy this year! This signifies that they are able to put on resumes and job applications that they are biliterate. This will also transfer as credit hours to the colleges they will be attending.
The Seal of Biliteracy is very difficult to achieve which makes it so exciting that we have students who work so hard in Spanish to earn it!
Congratulations to Anna and Zoe for their hard work in earning this great honor!!!
