Good afternoon Hershey Panthers!
We are monitoring the situation along Highway 30 at the railroad which involves a train car on fire with toxic smoke. After visiting with the National Weather Service, they confirmed the wind is moving in a N-NE direction which would pose no threat to Hershey or the Hershey School District at this time. The National Weather Service is monitoring the wind direction and if there would be a change in the wind direction in a manner that would impact our district, we would be notified immediately. We would then plan and communicate accordingly to keep students and staff safe. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we monitor this situation.
