REMINDER: Parents and students in grades 7-12 will receive their Chromebooks THIS Thursday, August 15, starting at 7:00 PM in the Activities Center. One of our board goals for the 2024-2025 school year is to provide comprehensive instruction on the acceptable use of technology to prepare students for responsible digital citizenship. During this session, both students and parents will learn about internet safety and appropriate digital citizenship. Sara Hento, an attorney from KSB School Law, will lead the presentation and will also address the use of personal electronic devices, particularly social media. The Surgeon General released an advisory in May 2023 highlighting the impact of social media on youth mental health and has recently called for health warnings for younger users. In addition Dr. Luke McConnell will present on services he offers to the HPS district as well as a quick presentation from HPS administration. Panther Strength Classes are available to students at HHS. In order to enhance each athletics program to its fullest, athletes need to train year round. HPS is offering S & C classes throughout the day all year long. 0 period (7:00-7:50 AM) for those that have schedule conflicts during the school day. 0 period does afford athletes the ability earn elective credit. During the school day HPS offers S & C classes 1st, 3rd, 4th, & 7th periods. Encourage the kiddos to sign up for a class with Mrs. Pettera.
