Spelling Bee

Students across Lincoln County competed in the Annual Lincoln County Spelling Bee on Friday, February 3, 2023.  The event was a huge success as Hershey attended with representatives in the 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th grade levels!

Lucy Staton & Laney Haman-5th
Noah Fletcher & Ruby Beveridge -6th
Sophie Winter & Ella Duckworth & -7th
Jackson Arensdorf & Nolan Eustice-8th

Students were challenged by others in their same grade level, as they tried to spell each word correctly through multiple rounds.  Each runner-up and winner of the corresponding grade level then battled it out with other student in the championship round (grades 5-8)!

The Students of Hershey did an outstanding job representing themselves and the district!  Ruby Beveridge placed 2nd in her grade level (6th grade), and moved on to the championship round where she ended up taking runner-up of the overall (Grades 5-8) Lincoln County Spelling Bee!  Ella Duckworth placed 1st in her grade level (7th grade) and moved on to the championship round.  Nolan Eustice place 1st in his grade level (8th grade) and competed in the championship round as well.

Ruby Beveridge will be an alternate representative if the Champion is unable to attend.  The event will be held at Janet A and Willis S. Strauss Performing Arts Center on the University of Nebraska at Omaha‘s campus.
