Snowplow

Back in September, The Nebraska Department of Transportation invited students in grades K-5 to participate in the second annual "Name A Snow plow" contest.  I am pleased to inform you that Super Scooper submitted by Hadley Closman and Power Pusher submitted by Greyson Belter have been selected as winners in this year’s contest!  There were almost 700 students who submitted an entry to this year's contest.

Submissions were evaluated by an internal panel at NDOT.  This year, NDOT selected 16 names from across the state of Nebraska to be chosen as winners.  Super Scooper submitted by Hadley Closman and Power Pusher submitted by Greyson Belter will be branded on actual snow plows in District 6.  There are 8 total districts across the state of Nebraska.

Each winning student received a mini snow plow with their winning name branded on it along with a prize box for their entire class.  Additionally, NDOT will share information on its social media platforms about the 16 winning names from across the state.  From there, students can look for “their” plows on NDOT’s Plow Tracker each time our plows are out clearing Nebraska’s roads during a winter event.

Each student will receive a prize package to share with their 2nd grade classmates as a thank you!  NDOT employees from District 6 delivered the prize packages in person on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 12:30 PM!  Their prizes were delivered in the actual snow plows!  The entire 2nd grade had a blast getting to see Super Scooper and Power Pusher in person!  Congratulations Hadley Closman & Greyson Belter!
