One of the things I like to do is to share the awesome things our students are doing within our FFA Chapter and agriculture program. Over the last week, we have had a few events that I'd like to highlight and recognize some outstanding students who made these a success.
Homecoming
On Friday, September 16th, the following students helped serve food during Hershey State Bank and Simplot's annual pork chop tailgate dinner: Dason Hayes, Koltar Rahn, Maureen Salinas, Paige Osden-Davis, and Will Fisher. This was a big fundraiser for our FFA chapter, especially since we are brand new. We couldn't have done this without these students!
FFA EDGE Leadership Day
During the school day on Monday, September 19th, Emma Elliott, Bailey Bell, Kale DaMoude, Talon Thompson, Angel Wardyn, and Jackson Smith attended the FFA EDGE Leadership Day. This event was attended by nearly 100 FFA members from our area of the state. These students stepped outside of their comfort zone to participate in networking and leadership activities, connect with other FFA members, and learn the basics of FFA.
Lincoln County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting
Dusty Brown, Drew Hoelscher, Destiney Fries, and Wyatt Sachtjen represented our FFA chapter and school by attending the Lincoln County Farm Bureau's annual meeting. Students learned about the issues facing Nebraska and Lincoln County agriculture and connected with area farmers, ranchers, and agriculturists.
These students have been absolute rockstars in helping get our FFA Chapter and agriculture program started, so if you get a chance, please recognize and thank them for their efforts!
