2021 Can Food Drive

The students in grades PreK-12 Grade at Hershey Public Schools had a successful Can Food Drive this year to share the Holiday Cheer!!!  From December 6th through December 14th, Hershey Public School’s 7-12 Student Council encouraged students to bring canned food, dry goods, and cash to support the Hershey and Sutherland Food Pantry.  The school goal was to raise 3,000 pts.  Any cans with an easy-to-open top was worth 2 points and the other donations were worth 1 point.  The reward for hitting their goal was to have Friday, December 17 off from school and to have the Principals, Mr. Steinbeck and Mr. Thomsen wear festive holiday Christmas Costumes on Thursday, December 16th.  Hershey Senior class president Kate Vaughn states “It was really cool to see the school come together and meet not only one goal, but two goals that benefited those in need.”  Through generous donations Hershey Public Schools raised a total of 4,804 points in canned goods donations and $508 of cash donations.  Hershey, and the school, is a giving community with gracious hearts!  Thank you for supporting the food pantry!
