Today, Hershey Public Schools proudly celebrates Bus Driver Appreciation Day and recognizes the incredible individuals who help keep our district moving each and every day!
Our bus drivers have an important responsibility that goes far beyond simply getting students from one place to another. For many of our students, a bus driver is the first school employee they see in the morning and the last one they see at the end of the day. A smile, a “good morning,” or a few encouraging words can help set the tone for a student’s entire day.
Above all else, our drivers are entrusted with something incredibly important — the safety of our students. Whether navigating an early morning route, driving country roads, dealing with Nebraska weather, or bringing students home after a long day, our drivers take tremendous pride in getting our students where they need to be safely.
We are fortunate to have five dedicated daily route drivers who serve our students and families:
Christy Schmitz • Karen Ditch • Ben Sukraw • Tim Cooper • Nancy Cooper
Our transportation team also goes well beyond our regular routes. Our activity drivers spend countless hours behind the wheel transporting student-athletes, activity participants, coaches, and sponsors throughout the school year. They help our students arrive safely and on time, and many times you'll find them in the stands or along the sidelines cheering on the very students they transported.
We are proud to recognize:
Deb Cruser • Torrey Kloppenborg • Todd Streeter • Dan Huebner • Diana Bolt
Every route driven, every early morning, every late-night return, and every mile traveled represents a commitment to the students of Hershey Public Schools.
We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dependable and caring team of drivers. They understand that transporting students is more than a job — it is an important part of serving our school community.
To all of our drivers: THANK YOU! Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your reliability. Thank you for supporting our students. And most importantly, thank you for making their safety your priority every single day.
We appreciate the outstanding team of drivers who serve Hershey Public Schools and help our Panthers Learn, Grow, and Thrive!
Happy Bus Driver Appreciation Day!
