Phones are a big part of our everyday lives. They help us stay organized, learn new things, connect with others, and relax. But it is also important to remember that we get to decide when and how we use them, not the other way around.
As we settle into the school year, this is a good time to review a few healthy phone habits. Not every text, Snap, or notification needs our attention right away. Putting our phones away during class, homework, and time with others helps us focus and be more present. It is also a good idea to check location sharing, app permissions, privacy settings, and who can see our posts.
We can all help our students learn how to use technology in a safe and healthy way. Sometimes the best choice is simply to put the phone down and remember, it can wait!
