Hershey Public Schools is excited to welcome Jaelyn Dicke to the Panther family for the 2026–2027 school year. Jaelyn will serve as our new Early Childhood/Elementary Special Education Teacher, bringing a strong passion for student-centered learning and relationship-building to our district.
Originally from Waverly, Nebraska, Jaelyn began her college career at Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte, where she earned her Associate of Science degree and played volleyball for two years. She is currently in her final semester at Chadron State College and will graduate with a degree in Early Childhood Education along with a Special Education endorsement.
Jaelyn was inspired to become a teacher by the powerful impact educators can have on students’ lives. Through her own experiences with supportive teachers and coaches, she developed a desire to be that same positive influence—helping students build confidence, stay motivated, and feel a true sense of belonging. She believes that for many students, school is more than just a place to learn—it is a place to feel safe, seen, and valued.
Over the past two years, Jaelyn has gained valuable experience working as a substitute teacher across multiple districts, including several long-term placements. These opportunities have allowed her to build meaningful connections with students and gain experience supporting diverse learning needs.
Jaelyn shared that she was drawn to Hershey Public Schools because of its strong sense of community and commitment to relationships. She is excited to join a district where students are known and supported both academically and personally.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know each student as an individual—their strengths, interests, and goals—and creating a classroom environment where they feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn,” Jaelyn shared.
In addition to her teaching role, Jaelyn will also serve as a high school assistant volleyball coach, where she looks forward to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the court.
Her teaching philosophy is student-centered, relationship-focused, and flexible. She believes that strong relationships are the foundation of learning and that every student deserves to feel safe, valued, and genuinely seen in the classroom.
Outside of school, Jaelyn enjoys painting, designing, and creating personalized items such as banners, signs, and t-shirts. She also loves spending time outdoors with family and friends, being at the lake, playing yard games, participating in adult volleyball leagues, and spending time with her dog, Taz.
Please join us in welcoming Jaelyn Dicke to Hershey Public Schools—we are excited for the positive impact she will have on our students and school community!
