Calie Troyer - Book Chase the Dream

Hershey Public Schools is proud to highlight the accomplishments of alum Calie Troyer, a graduate who continues to make a positive impact both in and out of the classroom.

Calie, who currently serves as the Burwell Rodeo Queen, is also pursuing a degree in Medicine at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK). Alongside her academic and rodeo commitments, she has recently authored a children’s book titled Chase the Dream ’Til You Can’t.

The book was inspired by Calie’s grandmother, Karen, who played a major role in encouraging her to follow her passions and work hard toward her goals. After her grandmother’s passing, Calie was reminded of an important message, that tomorrow is never promised. In honor of her grandmother’s life and legacy, she created a story that reflects those values.

“This book holds more than just a story for me, it holds pieces of my heart,” Calie shared. “My grandma always encouraged me to chase my dreams, and I wanted to pass that message on to others.”

Chase the Dream ’Til You Can’t includes meaningful memories, heartfelt messages, and photos of places that helped shape Calie’s journey. Her goal is to inspire young readers to believe in themselves and to pursue the things they are passionate about.

Calie originally planned to share the book during classroom visits as part of her role as Rodeo Queen. However, after sharing it with friends and family, it became clear that the message reached far beyond her initial vision.

“This experience has shown me how powerful a small community can be,” Calie said. “I feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by people who have always believed in me.”

Hershey Public Schools congratulates Calie on this meaningful accomplishment and is proud to see her continuing to inspire others. Her story is a reminder to all students to follow their dreams and make the most of every opportunity.

We wish Calie continued success as she pursues her goals and shares her message with others.
