Hershey Public Schools – Selected to receive Cognia’s Values Driven Award of Excellence!!

We are proud to announce that Hershey Public Schools has been selected to receive the Values Driven Award of Excellence from our accreditation organization Cognia. The Values Driven Award of Excellence recognizes institutions who systematically and systemically model Cognia values through their day-to-day efforts to improve outcomes for their students.

As a non-profit, Cognia is the largest continuous improvement and accreditation organization in the world. They have conducted rigorous, on-site reviews of a variety of educational institutions for over a century. Hershey Public School has proudly held themselves to this level of rigor since 1993, demonstrating a strong commitment to school improvement and excellence.

Hershey Public School clearly demonstrates the Cognia Values as they live their tagline “Educating Every Student, Every Day, Every Way”. They have stood for the learner and worked to build connections. This is demonstrated throughout the school in many ways, including the commitment to providing onsite access to social emotional learning supports for students and the development of an MTSS process to support student learning. They are inspiring and driving potential through the utilization of StrengthsFinder 2.0 to assist students in setting goals, through work-based learning experiences for secondary students, and the regular utilization of the Gallup Student Poll data to assess student engagement and belonging with the school.

The school's commitment to their mission, "Empowering students to reach their full potential", provides multiple pathways for students to achieve success while providing a caring and supportive environment along the way.

We are excited that Cognia has chosen us for this award through our 2022-2023 school improvement accreditation cycle.

The award presentation will take place on Wednesday, January 24th at 1:30 PM in the East Gym!
