Hershey TeamMates Chapter hosts newly inducted Hall of Famer, Tommie Frazier!
Superintendent Davis welcomed community and students, Monday, August 19th, to the presentation given by Hall of Famer, Tommie Frazier.
Frazier, considered one of the greatest college, option quarterbacks in NCAA Division 1-A history, talked of the importance of having a plan and keeping to it, whether in adversity, or good times. He told the audience God has a plan for us, but we, too, need to have a plan and work to attain it.
Frazier cemented his place in Nebraska history by having his best performances in Nebraska’s greatest games. Frazier led the Huskers to back-to-back national titles in 1994 and 1995. In both those games, he received most valuable player honors. So apparent was his dominance in 1995, that eight organizations recognized him as a first-team All American! He became the first Husker ever to win the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award! More recently, Tommie was one of six Huskers named to Sports Illustrated’s All Century- Team, joining Aaron Taylor, Johnny Rodgers, Rich Glover, Dean Steinkuhler, and Mike Rozier.
Sports magazine has acclaimed him as one of the 10 greatest college football players of the century, and Frazier’s No. 15 jersey was retired in 1996!
