On Thursday, April 4, 35 Hershey High School FBLA students left for their State Leadership Conference (SLC) held in Omaha for three days. Here students got the wonderful experience of listening to Holly Hoffman, Keynote Speaker. She was the last woman standing on Season 21 of CBS’ hit reality show “Survivor Nicaragua”. She spoke about how students needed to continue to Create, Lead, and Inspire in all aspects of life. These topics are apart of Nebraska’s FBLA 2018-2019 motto. After this students began taking 4-5 tests on Thursday and Friday in all areas of business, and Seniors also conducted a job interview. Along with tests and job interviews students attended business related break-out sessions. Some of the favorite sessions attended by students were “Lead Simply”, “Strengths That Everyone Have, but Rarely Use”, “How to Land Your First Internship”, and “Small Talk with March of Dimes Mom”. Overall, there were 2,200 students across Nebraska that attended SLC. The 2019 SLC results for Hershey are as follow:

● Mekenna Fisher-Intro to Business-1st (504 students took this test)-going to Nationals!!!

Nebraska will send roughly 350 students in 74 business events this summer in San Antonio, Texas. Here students will compete by taking a test they qualified in. They will also get to experience what San Antonio has to offer like the Alamo and Sea World. This will be an amazing experience for MeKenna Fisher, Rachel Abbott, Colten Ballentine, and adviser, Cynthia Elliott. This will be the first time Hershey High School has qualified students to FBLA’s National Leadership Conference.
